The Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation, as the implementing partner and host of the Decade Collaborative Centre (DCC-SOE) in Barcelona, is pleased to announce the appointment of Raffaele Mancini as Director of the Centre.

The DCC-SOE is a key element in achieving the goals of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), the “Ocean Decade,” which provides a global platform for collaboration and interdisciplinary innovation, aiming to drive a new era in ocean science.

As Director, Raffaele will lead the Centre’s mission: to promote a sustainable, resilient, and equitable ocean economy by generating knowledge, fostering innovation, building multi-sectoral alliances, and developing solutions that address current environmental, social, and climate challenges. The DCC-SOE will act as a global hub where scientists, policymakers, businesses, and citizens can collaborate to rethink how we understand and protect the ocean.

The Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation also expresses its gratitude for the trust and support of its partners: the Barcelona City Council, the Port of Barcelona, the Government of Catalonia, the Spanish National Research Council through the Institute of Marine Sciences and BlueNetCat, as well as the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.

Welcome, Raffaele, to this exciting project with a significant global impact!
