The director of the UN Ocean Decade Collaborative Centre for the Ocean Economy, Raffaele Mancini, participated in the institutional opening of the II Barcelona Nautical Summit, organized by the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, consolidating the international character of the event.

The second edition of the congress, held on April 16 at Marina Port Vell, brought together more than a hundred professionals, companies, and institutions from the maritime sector with the aim of promoting innovation, networking, and business opportunities within the blue economy.

The opening ceremony also featured the participation of the president of the Port de Barcelona, José Alberto Carbonell, and highlighted the strategic importance of the city as an international hub for the nautical sector and the ocean economy. In this context, Mancini’s presence reinforces the link between Barcelona and global initiatives linked to the sustainable development of the oceans.

The Barcelona Nautical Summit has established itself as a key meeting point for the sector, with an agenda that included presentations by international experts, networking spaces, and B2B sessions aimed at fostering business collaboration. In addition, innovative solutions were presented in areas such as sustainability, maritime technologies, and new business models.

With this new edition, Barcelona reinforces its position as one of the main reference centers for yachting in the Mediterranean, committing to public-private collaboration and innovation as drivers of growth for the sector.
