The university initiative RC Sailing Barcelona<\/strong>, driven by Sail Rush and Fundaci\u00f3 Barcelona Capital N\u00e0utica<\/a>, has been recognized as an Ocean Decade Activity<\/strong> within the framework of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030<\/a>, coordinated by UNESCO.<\/p>\n

This recognition incorporates the project into the international network of actions<\/strong> that contribute to promoting the science, innovation, and knowledge necessary to advance towards a more sustainable ocean. It also reinforces the international projection<\/strong> of an initiative that brings nautical sports and sailing closer to new generations of engineers.<\/p>\n<\/div>

RC Sailing Barcelona<\/strong> is an educational project that invites third and fourth-year engineering students to design and build competitive wind-powered radio-controlled boats<\/strong>. During the process, participants apply knowledge acquired at university in areas such as naval design, mechanics, materials, aerodynamics, and electronics.<\/p>\n

Through this challenge, students develop technical and teamwork skills<\/strong> that bring them closer to the maritime sector and professional opportunities linked to the blue economy.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to foster navigation technologies, stimulate applied innovation, and introduce the world of sailing<\/strong> to university talent, becoming a gateway to the sector for future professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div>
